Open Door Group partners with clients and employers as well as community partners and funders, to build genuine and collaborative relationships that support meaningful work for everyone. Within the communities it serves – including Kamloops, Sechelt, and Vancouver – Open Door Group works with all individuals who are interested in preparing for, finding, and keeping meaningful employment. Open Door Group Programs include:
An Opportunities Fund for people living with a disability which supports vocational training, tuition, wage subsidies, income support, funding for employment assistance services and adaptive equipment, and self-employment training.
Jobs In Demand services which support individuals in developing relevant skills and work experience for in-demand industries
Trades Training for women such as carpentry and related skilled trades. The program helps women learn about the trades industry, get relevant certifications, connect with potential employers, and receive one-on-one mentorship from trained employment facilitators and Red Seal carpenters.
Gardengate – a horticultural Program which helps healing and recovery for individuals living with addictions or mental health conditions. Through activities in the garden, Open Door Group supports people to work towards personal goals such as healthy eating, active living, or vocational training. The program build skills and confidence as people grow and harvest food for themselves, as well as for the Kamloops community.
Thrive. The Thrive Program, offered in Vancouver, helps those living with a mental health conditions through one-to-one coaching and group programs that focus on personal development and positive community connections. From healthy living to computer skills training, the Open Door Group helps individuals by working with them to build a custom program that fits their needs.
